Dream 1
I sat on a stair step-like set of seats along a wall with a lot of people. We were in a big but short and dingy room. A girl I "knew" sat to my right. My friend PD stood on the floor. The girl and PD had been speaking back and forth about schooling (?). The girl came from somewhere like Ohio.
Before PD walked out the door (to our left), she said something like, "Don't forget before you take the big test to take your mid-test."
The girl didn't get the "joke." She didn't get what a mid-test would be. I told her, "She's saying, Instead of taking your 'mid-term' test, take your 'middle states' test." As I said "middle states," PD echoed me from the lowest step and right near the door.
For a couple seconds I tried to explain how people in New York think people from the Midwest need to do a bit more to prove themselves. But then I realized PD had echoed me.
I got up and walked down to PD. She had books and notebooks spread out in front of her. I wanted to speak to her, almost out of apology. I had somehow pointed out stupidity in her, and now I saw she was really smart.
