(9/15/09) i get a museum exhibition; i control time travel

(Entered in paper journal at 8:24 AM at Red Horse cafe in Brooklyn.)

Dream #1

I was in a large, multi-floored museum, like the area of the Denver Museum of Natural History (the last time I was there, which was years ago) with the atrium and balconies, except with a lot of floors, less natural light, and more sharp-white fluorescent light. I was with a group of people, whom I never quite saw.

There was possibly going to be a party or an exhibition held for me. But I hadn't known about it, and I didn't know if I'd be able to get it prepared in time. At one point I was up on a higher floor's balcony. It was very thin, and it was tiered. It was set up like a restaurant, and there were people sitting at some of the tables. I may have been trying to save a couple of tables for a group of people, possibly my family.

Later, I was down on the ground floor with a group of people. We were all setting up circular dining tables as part of a large reception for my exhibition. The space felt very large and polished and cold. I was afraid that either nobody would come or that everything had been done with such delay that nobody would be interested in the reception any longer.

Dream #2

Can't really remember any images. View was dark, probably. A few different people, men and women, one at a time, were being allowed, possibly by me, to return to different specific points in time. All of these times were alternate pasts, somewhat reminiscent of the time period in Gibson and Sterling's The Difference Engine.
