(1/24/05) staircase chases and christmas lights

(Entered in paper journal at 7:20 AM at home in Harlem.)

Dream 1

I was in a long basement hallway that was full of doors that were widely spaced. I came to a woman who was peering in, either through a door or a wide window like the one outside the room for just-delivered babies. The woman was tall, thin, and Hispanic, with long, curly hair.

The woman asked if she looked good enough to please XXXXX, who wasn't her boyfriend. I got mad that she'd cheat on her boyfriend. I told her I didn't approve. I walked away. She yelled after me, "Okay! Just tell me if I look good in general!"

I headed up some stairs. I kept waiting for XXXXX to come beat me up now that I had insulted the woman. I got up to some flight on the staircase. I white man, kind of thin, balding, walked to the stairs, passed me by, leered worthlessly at me, and passed on. I caught up with him just as he started going down.

Somehow I was now on a different staircase. I had to get to the bottom and the front door before the white man, who was still using the first staircase, to show him I wasn't worthless. The staircase was weird, with wood walls lined with turquoise paint.

I eventually jumped whole twisting flights of stairs, speeding down the staircase. But I was afraid that if the white man found out I was doing this he'd learn to do it, too, and beat me.

I was now at the very bottom, which I thought was one floor too low. But somehow I did get outside. But the person I was now waiting for was my crew mate KB. She had done something almost heroic, maybe also a bit defiant, in a sexy way. I was jealous of her.

I flew up the wall of the building a couple floors, just to below a window, and hid right against the concrete surface. Now it seemed that I was partly KB, or that I had taken her rebel qualities. I crooned out all about not caring about anybody and just wanting booze and pot all the time.

There was a fire truck below me. Someone walked around the corner of the building. Thinking this was someone I didn't want to see, I flew away. I went to a front yard with a strange couple of shapes made of Christmas lights. One shape was all colored lights. The other was all white lights.

Two ladies stood talking in the yard by the light shapes. They were saying things to discourage me, possibly because I could fly and/or I wasn't a lady. I kept flying around and into the lights, doing flips and loops, thinking some secret would be revealed in the lights.

I was trying to show the ladies that I wasn't bad. But I was also trying to hide from the ladies so they couldn't take my power of flight away.

One of the ladies may have been my mom. At some point I thought all of this was very reminiscent of Fellini.

(5/21/05) my id and fifteen dollars; racist boss and bully girl

(Entered in paper journal at 11:35 AM at Starbucks on 43rd Street and 3rd Avenue in Manhattan.)

Dream 1

I was leaving some house or job. I had been told it was okay to leave, as I had done what I had come to do. But as I was leaving I realized I had left my ID and fifteen dollars in a car.

I went to where the car was, along a suburban street (?). The car had been moved, and a few other cars put in its place. The car was now on a lawn or driveway in a yard that sloped up to a house.

The people who were moving the cars were all Mexican. I thought they had stolen my stuff. I looked where I had put my stuff. It wasn't there.

I found the ID. A couple guys stood around the car. I didn't want to act worried, like I suspected them. Then I found the ten-dollar bill and then the five-dollar bill in different places, moved and separated, apparently for safe-keeping.

Dream 2

I was at some meeting or ceremony in an office building, a lobby up on a high floor full of windows. The atmosphere was almost like after a decorative party for children. I feel like there was a lot of pink and yellow everywhere.

Some bigwig-looking guy stood by a window, surrounded by an admiring throng of businessmen. He gave some speech which increasingly included jokes using stereotypes about different racial groups. It started with black people. Then there was some joke about how Mexican people live on food stamps. Then possibly some joke about how Asian people speak funny and look like monsters.

I looked around and saw myself surrounded by young, male minorities dressed to look hood-like. As the bigwig (bald) continued, I loudly whispered to the young men, "Didn't you hear? He just made jokes about you! And he's making a joke about you right now! Don't just go along with it! Make him stop!"

Now I was being carried out the door by two or three tall, young, strong, white businessmen, all of whom assumed I was drunk. They carried me past some couch that faced the lobby windows. I saw a board game on the couch. I assumed the board game was mine. I was pretty sure I wasn't drunk. But I clowned around more and more as the men carried me away, figuring if they wanted to assume I would drunk, I would just act drunk.

Now (I think) I was riding in an SUV with my friends R and CV. We drove on some balconies in what feels now like a tall parking garage surrounding a skyscraper full of malls. I was going somewhere specific with R.

We drove past a doorway to a mall which I recognized as having been the office space I had just been thrown out of. I told CV and R I needed to go back in there and get my Operation board game. R slowed down and stopped in front of the door. But he wouldn't get out. He said, "Go in if you need to go in. But please don't embarrass yourself. That'll embarrass me, too. They really don't want you back in there. You got too drunk last time."

I was still pretty sure I hadn't been drunk that time. I went (in?), to the couch and picked up my Operation game box, which was tattered and had a lot of the graphics layer of the paper stripped off to show only fuzzy swatches of tan cardboard.

I walked past a mafia-like group of three or four oldish, white-haired, heavy guys in polo shirts. The guys spoke quietly but toughly with each other. Then one of them turned to me and asked, "Why did you come back? Did you want to defy us? Did you want to disrespect us?"

I think I justified myself by showing him my board game. He seems to have been satisfied, though he still seems to have told me to leave and not come back.

I was (now?) walking down a hallway that looked like a mix between a back hallway in a museum and a wide hallway in a hospital. But this place was like a mall and a museum mixed together. I was now at the other end, walking "back" out "the way I had come in."

I walked past some girl who was distressed by another girl who was bullying her. The bully girl kept bouncing the distressed girl's basketball at and past the distressed girl in such a way that the distressed girl could never catch the ball. (I don't know how, but the basketball kept reappearing in the bully girl's hand, like a barrel in the video game Donkey Kong.) The distressed girl began crying.

I stepped in front of the distressed girl to catch the basketball. I walked quickly toward the bully girl. For some reason I had to catch the basketball at least once or I couldn't approach the bully girl. I managed to catch the basketball about three times. Each time I caught it it would disappear, with a satisfying feeling, almost exactly like I was racking up points in a video game.

When I realized what I was going I began failing. I would nick the ball with the tips of the fingers on my left hand and the ball would bounce off in a more and more dissatisfying way.

But now I was right in front of the bully girl, who was about nineteen or twenty years old, thin, with a pretty face, long, pale, blonde hair, a wholesome smile, and purple-blue eyes. The girl made a comment I can't remember and then said something like, "Let's get out of here."

I felt a "strong" sexual desire for the bully girl and told her her eyes were incredible. She said something like, "You can't bet me in bed by talking about my eyes. Every guy I know has tried that. If I'd wanted to go to be with you I'd already have been in bed with you."

We had walked out of the hallway and into the "office," which was now something more like a well-lit, classic, wooden bar, turned right, and headed down a hallway that looked like an airport concourse hallway that opened out into a large department store.

The bully girl was now my crew mate and friend KB. we were just hanging out and having fun. We walked to a setup like two big dressers placed across from and slightly caddy-corner to each other, i.e.

and surrounded (possibly) by sets displaying beds and bed sets. On the dressers were items for sale: jewelry or knickknack-like items, some of glass, some of crystal, some of gold, some of valueless material. Many had twisty, strange shapes, like modern-art decorative desk pieces.

KB said, "I'm looking for a good library toy." She grabbed something and walked off.

I turned around and looked at the items on the other dresser. The items on the first dresser seemed completely useless. For some reason (I don't know what now) these items looked useful, especially for a library job. I think KB came back and that I tried to tell her about these items.

(8/21/05) violent hygiene

(Entered in paper journal at 9:30 AM at Ozzie's coffee shop on Garfield Street and 5th Avenue.)

Dream 1

It was a bright, hot day. I was in a desert landscape full of mounds, each of different materials. I may have been working with "my NYC Americorps crew."

Now I sat in something like a hospital waiting room and/or restaurant. I sat in a chair, but I think next to me was a pale green vinyl booth. It seems to have been smashed up against or into another booth or circle of wood chairs like mine. My coworker DO sat in the first booth.

My backpack, all dirty and dusty, lay by my chair, slumped into the other "booth." A Spanish family sat in that "booth." A really pretty girl sat in the chair where my backpack was slumping over. The girl was grossed out and scooted over a bit.

DO said something ilke, "That's not good hygiene, Preemie. Did you think a girl would want to sit by your backpack with all that salt-grime on it?"

I now remembered the mound I had been working on was of huge salt crystals. I thought, Well, maybe the girl should be turned on by the fact that I worked hard in a strange place like that. But I moved the backpack away and felt ashamed of my sloppiness.

I don't know what happened next. Then, for some reason, I and someone, maybe DO, were following someone, maybe a doctor (?), through the hallways of this place. Whereas the "waiting room/restaurant" had been cheerily enough lit with natural light, the hallways were dim.

We opened one door. A doctor stood somewhere, possibly unseen, like against the wall and to the left of a doorway. Also to the left of the doorway was a tall, shrubby plant with vines (?) growing out of it. A patient stood just in front of the doorway. Some of the flower-dotted vines crept over him. We had the door open only about halfway, the opening to the left, i.e.

The unseen doctor went on and on about not knowing exactly what species of plant this was.

The patient brushed the vines off and told the doctor, "I don't care what species the plant is. I didn't come here for that." I shut the door, feeling like by standing there I, too, was holding up the man from his purpose.

We walked to another room, which may not have had a door. The room was dimmer than the hallway. It was sort of long and wide. In the middle was something like a conveyor belt or really long examination table. All along it were small shrubs or trees with wide, fragrant, purple-red, heart-shaped leafs. A couple "doctors," male and female, were walking around the room, discussing things I couldn't understand.

My friend (now PD?) and I walked close to the plants. The smell overpowered me. Without thinking, I grabbed the leafs and shoved them in my mouth. The leafs were thick, as thick as five leafs stacked, and they tasted like sweet apples. I thought to myself, This is a redbud tree. Do all redbud trees have leafs like this? Am I supposed to be eating these leafs at all?

Suddenly I felt like an idiot in front of the scientists. With my mouth and hands full I ran out of the room in search either of a room with a plant that was definitely a redbud or else a place outside where I definitely knew a redbud had been planted. But I couldn't remember any place where I had seen a redbud.

I stood in a room, in front of a tree. But something distracting was happening, or maybe I didn't want to be "caught in the act" (i.e. I didn't want people to catch me acting weird with these leafs), and I couldn't focus effectively on examining the tree and seeing if it was a redbud and eating the leafs.

Now it was either late night or early morning. It may have been cool and drizzly. I was outside, in a residential neighborhood and between two tall, steep hills. My friend/coworker KA drove up and picked me up. As we drove the headlights made the drizzle look silvery.

KA said we had been planning to pick up my friend/coworker KB, but that KB had been late. I was spitefully glad we weren't picking up KB. I said something like, "It's unusual that she'd do something like this, but I don't think it's out of character."

KA looked at me suspiciously, as if wondering why I'd want to undermine things with KB. I myself wondered that. Now KA was blaming me for some mistake that had gotten us off track.

Now it was daytime. We were on some mountain/plain roadside, or perhaps just some grassy area with no road. The grass was fiery yellow, green, and orange, as if the grass were changing color, going dormant for the fall. Some other cars were parked here, kind of widely spaced. We two were here to work.

We walked up to KA's car, toward a tall, black man with dreads. The man stared at me. When I got up to him, he pulled something out of his pocket like it was a switchblade and then shoved it toward me and shouted out a "boom!" at me. I flinched. Then I looked down and saw the object was just a straw. The man laughed, self-satisfied that he had scared me.

Everything seems reversed now. Instead of walking

I walked like this.

But now I turned around to face the man again. I was a little afraid. But when I got up to him I mock-congratulated him for scaring me. Then I laughed and laughed in his face. I wasn't afraid now. I wanted to beat the shit out of this guy.

The man walked away slowly, trying to act like he wasn't threatened. But I didn't want him to walk away. I called him back, telling him he was the real coward if he wouldn't fight me, and that only cowards scare people for no reason, anyway.

Now he was running down some hill of grass and pine trees. I ran after him.

It was night. Somebody sat on the slope. I thought it was the man. I ran up, yelling that now he was going to face me once and for all. I grabbed the person's shoulder. The person turned around. She was an older woman. She looked at me pathetically. I felt bad and tried to explain myself.

But now I was walking into a tightly spaced cafe. The place was all dark, heavy, rough wood. There was plenty of natural light, but the darkness of the wood still gave the place a classy kind of dimness. The place was like a corner or "L," with a round column on the inner corner,

and two tables very close to the column and each other.

I sat at a table with a "woman" I didn't pay much attention to, and my coworker SC, who was reading the paper. In the other table was some 19th century-style man with a round face, a bowler hat, and a puny mustache.

SC spoke with the "woman" about the article he'd just read. he said something like, "I could belive that they're all related. It doesn't seem strange to me."

Now the "woman" spoke in a gaudy, deep voice. I realized the "woman" was a transsexual. I was disappointed. I looked at the "woman." She looked terribly mannish. I wanted to ignore her completely, but the way the man at the other table scrutinized me made me feel bad. I spoke directly to SC.

I looked at the article. Apparently the article claimed that six children had been conceived by an alien and born of an earthling woman. There were six photos, and the children all had a Nosferatu-like look, though some children had a bit bigger eyes or more robust bone structure.

(4/23/06) unfamiliar food; truck crash is my fault

(Entered in paper journal at 10:45 AM at Starbucks on 1st Street and 7th Avenue in Brooklyn.)

Dream 1

I walked into my room late at night. The room was big but a little like a hospital room. My bed was a lot like a hospital bed. The floor had a black and white octagon tile design (like in the bathroom of a place I'd lived in in waking life Harlem in 2005). I had a sink at the back end of the room -- like a hospital sink.

I wanted to go to bed. I kicked my foot against my fridge. It popped open. It looked disgusting, but not as disgusting as I'd thought it would. Plus there was food in it, packaged food, mostly like plastic bottles in which one might find milk or yogurt drinks.

I closed the fridge but then thought I'd open it again to see the food, none of which, on reflection, was anything I remembered having gotten recently. But I opened a fridge to the left of the first fridge. This was a tall fridge with two vertical doors, like my mom's fridge.

I had thought before that someone had come into my room and put weird food in my fridge. In the tall fridge was a note, written in capital letters with red marker, explaining everything. The note said that my landlord had brought this new stuff into my room because he didn't want me to leave. He wanted me to feel more comfortable right here.

I couldn't believe it. I reached into the fridge to see if it -- and the food -- was real.

Dream 2

It was daytime. I was out by a huge road. The road curved away to the right. On either side of the road were big, mangled-looking buildings. In the center of the road ran a concrete barrier.

Big vehicles, enormous trucks, mostly, sped by, going at a frightening pace. But I needed to get across the road. I need to deliver something from my bosses on one side of the road to a boss on the other side. There was a smart, safe way to do it. But the trucks scared me, so I wanted to get past my fears by going straight through the traffic.

I got to the barrier, maybe even straddled it, when something bad happened with the trucks. Either they crashed with each other or they crashed into buildings. I had failed and caused this crash by not doing the safe thing.

One building across the street could no longer be used for work -- it may have been being built, close to being done, but now it would take much longer to finish. One of my previous bosses, PG, was very angry.

A woman to my right, walking with me back across the now empty street, told me not to worry, that the present building was fine for at least another year or two. We were now inside the building, which had a tall atrium. We walked from one side to another and then back to the front of the lobby, to a reception desk.

As we went around the told me that we would be covering (doing investment research on) a new sector -- something to do with hospitals. I said, "Oh, isn't RO in that sector? He's a pretty smart guy, and pretty cool. But for some reason he's always scared me."

I sat down in the reception desk. There were stacks of books and journals and papers all over. I knew I had a lot of studying to do.

(4/27/09) brain surgery patients

(Entered in paper journal at 7:45 AM at Red Horse cafe in Brooklyn.)

Dream #1

I wandered through a series of hallways, possibly in an office building or hospital. I finally came to a room like a large operating room. There were maybe ten beds in the room.

On each bed lay a naked man. Each man was white, bald, maybe in his late thirties or early forties, of medium build, with his body sagging slightly, as if each man had just begun to get out of shape. The men differed slightly in the degree of physical conditioning, as well as in some other things, such as height and penis size.

The men all had small markings, in ink that looked like tattoo ink, on their skulls and possibly on their shoulders and arms. The small markings were all shapes like right angles and "T" shapes. I knew these men were all here for brain surgery, possibly as a treatment of insanity. I was also scheduled to undergo brain surgery.

(12/27/09) home in the woods; follow that mom!

(Entered in paper journal at 8:24 AM at Sit & Wonder cafe in Brooklyn.)

Dream #1

I was with someone, maybe my brother, in the woods. We were near our/my car, which was stopped on a dirt road. The weather was cold. It was nearing night.

Now the night had passed. I had spent the whole night here, in a tent. The other person had "gone back." I stood near the car and looked at the woods around me. I was proud for having camped here all night.

Now I had to go hiking through the woods. But the light was still dark blue-grey, pre-sunrise light. I felt afraid to go into the deep woods in the darkness, or even in the light. I worried that a wild animal would attack and eat me. The area around me was grassy with the occasional shrub or pine tree dotting the landscape, and edged by a deep forest of pine trees.

Suddenly I noticed a coyote hiding behind a shrub and looking at me. I got afraid and made some aggressive kicking move at the coyote, scaring the coyote out of the shrub, which was maybe fifty feet away from me. The coyote trotted away, looking at me shyly. I felt bad, thinking I'd scared away a perfectly innocent coyote. I may have seen a domesticated dog off to the left as the coyote wandered off to the right. I may also have seen another, unrecognizable animal.

I was now back "at home," which was a house like a double-wide trailer at the head of the trail I'd taken into the woods. I stood with a group of people in my family, including my Aunt B and Uncle M. I stood at eye level with a tangled bunch of different, tall-stalked wildflowers. The morning was bright, sunny, and kind of warm, and the flowers and stalks glittered with dew.

Somewhere in a little clearing amid these flowers, I knew, a tent stood up on an oval of lawn. My little cousins (even though in waking life they are no longer little) had camped there the night before. Either my Uncle M or Aunt B was telling me that the kids had camped out here for a little while, but that they had gotten scared or cold and that Uncle M had to bring them in.

Dream #2

I was riding in the backseat (?) and passenger side of my grandma P's car.  My grandma P drove, and either my brother or sister was also in the car. It was a golden, sunny day. We were driving up a steep hill in a residential neighborhood, but we were also near either a busy road or a highway.

Suddenly my mom pulled up from behind us to our right. She yelled out her window at us that she had to go to XXXXX (either a hospital or a jail or both), possibly to see my brother, and that she couldn't stop, she had to keep driving there. So, she said, she would meet us back at home, but she didn't know when, maybe not even today. She said it in such a nonchalant and yet urgent manner that I at first thought all was completely fine.

But suddenly I realized I was headed for the airport, to go back home to New York, pretty soon. I had to get back home. But my mom had all my luggage, including my airplane ticket, in her car. We were going to meet at her house so she could give me all that stuff. But now she wanted to have all of us sit there and wait while she went off and did whatever! I knew the only reason she was doing this was to make me miss my flight.

I told my grandma, "Follow my mom's car! We're going wherever she's going. I'm getting my ticket and getting out of here!"

My mom was already out of sight, but I think we had an idea of where we were going. We drove toward some facility, hoping we were going to the right place. But I wasn't sure we were.

(2/1/10) disaster infection; monument of blood; love takes time

(Entered in paper journal at 6:30 AM on B-train into work from Brooklyn.)

Dream #1

I had a view of a field of dense, tall grass in the woods. The view felt very much like grainy television. There may even have been a sage-like scent.

I (or the camera?) moved forward through the field. I may have come upon some clearing, i.e. an area of much shorter grass. The clearing may have been surrounded by short, green shrubs, and there may have been some upside-down vehicle lying in the clearing.

I thought about some place, possibly nearby, where a disaster was occurring. I may have been afraid to go there and be a part of it, as if it were an infection, or I may have known that I needed to go there to stop it.

Dream #2

I rode with my family to a monument. The monument may have been the "Jefferson Memorial." The monument was all by itself in an area wooded around with thick, leafy trees. We arrived after sunset. A band of tan-yellow-orange light rimmed the horizon of the deep blue sky.

The memorial was a stout, wide building of red stone. Floodlights shone onto it at different angles, lighting patches of the structure. The structure looked like a small version of the U.S. Capitol, elongated. The place was open, and there were a number of rooms (maybe three) which could be walked through. The central room, under the cupola, housed a colossal statue of Jefferson, seated.

My family had gotten out of the car. They were wandering around the building in the blue shadows of the evening. There were a few other people around.

I was a little distracted, trying to figure out if this was actually the right monument, the Jefferson monument. I walked away from the monument and looked at the surroundings. The place was secluded, for sure. I remembered that about the monument from previous visits. But I remembered the monument being much different.

Well, I thought, maybe I shouldn't worry about that right now. I was here, after all. I might as well see what this monument, whatever it was, was all about, and not miss out.

I walked toward the monument. My family was seated outside. They may have been afraid to go in. I thought I'd go in and try to figure out why my family were afraid.

As I headed toward the central chamber, I saw that there were a few black boys hanging around the steps in front of the monument. The boys sat on a small staircase opposite a small, concrete walkway from the monument.

The boys obviously wanted to cause trouble. I thought of going into the central room directly, but I felt like the boys wanted me to do that, like it was a trap. So I walked (from the left) to the far right chamber. I knew I could walk into the central chamber, within the building, from the right chamber.

I entered the building. The room had red stone floors and walls. The place was lit by slightly dim track lighting. There were a couple museum exhibits along the wall and on small glass-case podiums throughout the room.

I could hear the boys enter the room. I knew that they were going to follow me and cause trouble. I started walking quickly through the chamber. I walked quickly into and through the central chamber as well, still hearing the boys in pursuit.

This chamber was also dimly lit, with red stone floors and walls. The front of the chamber was a floor, leading up to a few short steps, in a convex half-oval that rose to a short "stage." The statue stood on the stage, against the wall. It was of white stone, not as large as I had expected, maybe twice life-size.

I hurried toward the left chamber. I may have thought my family was outside the chamber, and now that I had been through the chambers, I could take my family safely through them.

(At this point I got off the train. I resumed entering my dream in my paper journal at 9 PM, heading back to Brooklyn via the B-train, after work.)

But I was also still trying to get away from the boys who were following me. Upon entering the left chamber, I found myself in a different space. I was in some place like a mall. The mall's walls seemed black, like the walls of a stage, and the building was enormous, tall, like the "atrium" in the Denver Museum of Natural History (the last time I was there, years ago) or the atrium in the Sony Building.

The atrium seemed to have a balcony running along its walls. The barriers of the balcony were clear, clean glass, railed with chrome rails which gleamed with clean, white light.

I walked onto a downward escalator. The escalator was tall and steep. It was also gleamingly clean. It went toward some kind of exit with which I felt familiar. I was trying desperately to get to that exit, for some reason that I can't remember.

I heard the boys behind me, possibly a couple of stories up from where I had gotten onto the escalator. The boys were taunting me, talking as if they were going to follow me, but also a if I were kind of a doofus and not worth following, because I didn't know where I was going.

The escalator now became more like steps, which became increasingly more difficult to traverse, as if they were getting more and more cluttered with objects like chrome bars and rails.

Eventually there were no stairs. I was jangling almost vertically downward through a frame or three-dimensional lattice of chrome bars. I seemed occasionally to have opened and gone through doors within this 3-D lattice, although much of it seemed to be just empty space, like the skeletal model of a molecule.

I got afraid, wondering whether I would eventually just fall down out of the lattice. But soon I found myself before  door like a fire escape. I opened the door -- just a crack -- it was hard to push in, like there was a strong, elastic, hydraulic resistance on the other side. Pushing in more and more, I managed to be able to stick my head in

The space beyond looked like a fire escape stairwell, with white, fluorescent light and white-painted concrete walls. But something like an IV stand was tipping before my face just beyond the door.

A little plastic item attached to a plastic tube was most plain to my vision. The item was clearish, maybe two inches long, with four cylinders, all draining into (or being drawn from?) the clearish, plastic tube. The device and the tube were filled with blood.

I felt like this was a danger sign, that it meant this area was contaminated. But for some reason I felt like this was where I needed to be. I pushed open the door. Some blood (from the device?) spurted into my face, possibly into my mouth.

I now noticed that there were all kinds of hospital equipment and furnishings strewn about in this stairwell. The majority of them either contained or were dirtied with blood. I walked up the stairs, curving counter-clockwise as I ascended each flight. The walls seemed to have been written on with blood and black markings. More contaminated items lay in my path.

I myself seemed to be dirtied with blood, as well. My mouth was dripping, full of blood, and my skin was smeared with blood.

I finally came to a landing (as large as a large room, I believe) that was overwhelmingly filled with bloody hospital equipment. I myself felt sick, with the contamination of all this blood.

Dream #3

I was in a house which may have been my great grandmother's house. My sister had gone off by herself into a room just off from the living room. She sat with her back against the front of a chest, which seemed to be the "echo" of an easily visible chest (from my vantage point as I stood before my sister) in the living room.

My sister was upset, possibly that nobody believed her about something. It may just have been I who didn't believe her. There were some other people in the living room. The Mariah Carey song "Love Takes Time" came on. I could hear it palpably in my ears. My sister and I began singing along with it.
