(9/5/07) red scare in india; the lesbians' special voice

Dream #1

I was speaking with my co-worker RJ about going to India, to a specific area, either from which RJ had come or in which RJ's family members now lived. RJ told me to be careful because it was much easier to catch diseases, especially "the red disease," in that area.

At first I had a view of a very busy street in an enormous, busy town. The daylight was low and grey, and most of the buildings were slate grey.

I then saw a map with with different-colored patches to show the different cities or areas in one specific province (?). The area I was going to was called Philectectes (though it was pronounced "Philictetes"). Below the name of the area was a statement about "the red disease -- also known as the measles." I wondered why the area would be so susceptible. Was it the density of population.

I looked at the name of the whole region: Thales.

Dream #2

I was in a tent-like structure that was inside yet which felt like it was below a bridge and on grassy ground. The little area in which the tent stood was fenced off and walled off with scaffolding.

I walked out of that area, possibly at a friend's request, to pick up a copy of the Village Voice from a nearby newspaper box. The cover of the Voice was a black and white, grainy photo of a brunette woman lying on top of a blonde woman under blankets in bed. I was aroused by the photo, but I was afraid to get caught gawking at it. So I rolled up the paper.

I walked in front of a newspaper box for El Especialito. The photo on the Especialito's cover was a black and white photo of a blonde, female singer in a bikini, singing into a mic while on her knees, rubbing against the bottom of a brunette girl in a black mini-dress who was on all fours, had her head on the ground, and was sticking her bottom in the air.

I wanted to take a copy of the Especialito, just to show my friend "this is just what I meant!" (??? -- not sure what I "meant.") But I just walked away.

But then I walked back toward the box. Now the cover of the Especialito was a black and white photo of the blonde singer, again in a bikini, but now behind a circle of belt-strap line barriers, singing into the faces of girls who were in love with her. One girl in particular looked Indian, with dark skin and short hair. She stood almost directly in the singer's face and was full of bliss.
